Our League Our Rules

We are not BCA sanctioned meaning your average wont be eligible for BCA sponsored tournaments but we do have a method for determining each teams score average to even the competition.  Regardless if you are a seasoned player or never played before, our league is here for anyone who loves to play or curious about pool.  Our rules pretty much reflect BCA rules and regulations with some exceptions.

Ball in Hand Questions

Got a question? We’re here to help.

  • What if a teammate who is not playing calls out "Ball in Hand"?

No outside commentary is permitted or accepted during the game. It is the responsibility of the two players only to pay attention to any fouls committed.  If a foul is committed and the opponent didn't call it nor did the shooter voluntarily admit to it, the game continues as if nothing happen BUT if the opponent's teammate who is NOT playing brings attention that a ball in hand foul was committed then that outburst and/or notion is considered a FOUL and THE SHOOTER can continue shooting with the option of ball in hand.

Or if you are about to shoot and YOUR teammate informs you that you have ball in hand, that is a FOUL and if your opponent calls you out then they get the ball in hand.

If an outside commentator (someone that is not on either team) yells out "ball in hand" then that person will be warned and/or asked to leave the pool playing area.

  • What if I made contact with MY ball but none of my balls touch a rail?

If you didn't pocket a ball but you made contact with one of your balls, it is a ball in hand only IF after the cue ball touched one of your balls and nothing else touched a rail.  For example, if you hit a rail first and the cue ball touched one of your balls first, after that contact, any ball ( your balls, your opponents and/or the cue) must touch a rail afterwards.

  • What if I call ball in hand and we don't agree?

First, we expect that all players play competitively with respect and honor for the game and if a foul was committed and the shooter was called out on it, we would expect that they respect the rules; however, there are times that the ball in hand was not obvious and a brief pause for discussion is allowed between the two players only.  If they can't come to an agreement, RESPECTFULLY, then the captains can get involved.  The players can agree to continue playing, start again or forfeit.

  • What if I miscue on a break?

The opponent has the option of letting the shooter rebreak or they (the opponent) will take the break and can place the cue ball anywhere on the table (ball in hand).
